It’s Because Speaking Task

            I want to tell my experience in looking for a foreigner. It happened about one month ago. My speaking class got a task for interviewing with a foreigner. Each group was maximize 3 people. But, I was just two people in my group. I was with my friend, Novri. In fact, it was very difficult for searching a foreigner in Jambi.

            On Monday, November 22, 2010. after I studied in campus. I and my friend went to language office for searching a foreigner. But, the foreigner came back to his country, Netherland. He would come back to Jambi in the beginning of December month. It’s too long. So, we tried to find in Jambi Town Square or Jamtos. Eventhough, the weather was very hot. We kept our spirit. At there, Novri’s friend was laughing and she suggested that we must look for a foreigner in Abadi Suite. Before we planned go to Abadi Suite. We tried to find in Mall Kapuk. In fact, nobody was a foreigner at there. Because it’s too evening at the time. We decided to go home. On November 25, 2010. We continued to look for a foreigner. I heard from my friend that there is a foreigner in Walhi. The officer of  Walhi said that no foreigner has come to here recently. But, he gave an information that in Warsi, there is a foreigner. Then, he mad a map as a clue. Before we met the foreigner. We were too nervous. Because it was first time for us that we met a foreigner and would to interview him. He is friendly and kind person. He like English. He is a teacher in SMP N 7 Jambi. He is homesick because his home is so far, namely : he is from Los Angeles, California.

           

            I and my friend was very glad. Because we found a foreigner in Jambi. Eventhough, it mad me difficult to find a foreigner in Jambi. But, it gave us a new experience. It is because speaking task. I can speak with the foreigner directly.
